Some books, websites and documentaries that I believe will serve as an inspiration and a source of knowledge.

Movies and documentaries are my favorites, I think it’s one of the best ways to inform people, regardless of the subject. Here, you have the possibility to understand that the health problems of the population go beyond the choice of food. Social, political and economic problems are directly linked to people’s health and food.

  • forks over knives – This documentary shows a series of data and statistics on the health of the American population, who are increasingly sick and dependent on medicines, even with advances in medicine, showing the need to revolutionize the diet of this population.
  • Far Beyond Weight (Way Beyond the Weight) – Shows the situation of  Child obesity in Brazil and as political factors, the media, industries and education will influence this scenario. Very well produced.
  • supersize me -Morgan Spurlock explores the effects of the fast food industry in this documentary, consuming exclusively McDonalds food for a month, and then reveals the effects on your health.
  • food matters – Documentary on Food Healthy in the prevention of some diseases of modern life. It criticizes the pharmaceutical industry and conventional medicine.
  • King Korn – This documentary shows how corn production is and how much this food is present in most food products, from the food industry.
  • Food Inc. – one of my favorites! Definitely worth watching! It explores a lot of the production and industry of cattle and poultry, how they are raised and slaughtered, in addition to the impact of how the raising of animals interferes with the quality of the protein.
  •  taped – This documentary talks about the impact of disposable plastic water bottles on the environment, the economy and our health.
  • Jiro Dreams of Sushi – This documentary is about a super traditional family restaurant that serves high quality sushi with that exclusive style. For those who like Japanese food and watching food documentaries, it is a good choice.

interesting apps

waterlogged daily water – Let me know the amount of water you’ve already had and reminds you to drink too! There are several different applications with the same functionality. I think it’s cool because we often forget to drink water, why not help?

my fitness pal – I recommend more as a way to maintain a food diary to create self-awareness, as well as encourage some patients to do, especially for an initial phase of new changes in eating habits.
