Ginger is a spice that I use quite often in my routine. It has a super peculiar shape, with a strong flavor but at the same time very refreshing, a spicy and slightly sweet touch. It is a spice that can be used both as a spice and for medicinal use. It can be included to help with digestion, assist with flu, reduce inflammatory processes and much more.
Here are the benefits that ginger can bring:
- Gastrointestinal Relief: Ginger causes relaxation in the intestinal wall, which can relieve gas, sickness and even stomach cramps.
- Alleviate nausea: safe and effective alternative for women during pregnancy who suffer from nausea.
- Natural anti-inflammatory: mainly due to the presence of gingerol. It can be interesting especially for people who have arthritis, it can help with muscle pain or joint pain.
- Detoxifying effect: also stimulated due to the increase in body temperature caused by its active compounds, which can increase sweat, increasing the elimination of toxins.
- Anticancer: Also due to the presence of gingerol, especially for ovarian and colon cancer.
- Muscle recovery: some studies They already point out the daily consumption of ginger for athletes or practitioners of physical activities in helping to recover and reduce muscle pain. See my other articles on recovery after exercise (CrossFit & high intensity exercises / surf)

Tea recipe for flu: Boil 1 cup of water / include: Equinacea sachet, fresh ginger pieces to taste; 1 col. of honey tea; juice of 1 lemon.
How to buy and store: Prefer the fresh root, rather than buying dry extract. This is because in addition to the flavor being stronger in fresh ginger, we have greater availability of bioactive compounds that bring us the benefits. After opening, store the rest in a sealed glass container inside your refrigerator.
