Breakfast – Quinoa Bowl

english version? Click here!

Breakfast is my favorite meal since childhood, without a doubt! A kind of ritual necessary to start the rush on the right foot. I make a point of putting the alarm clock a little bit in order to have a nice and calm breakfast. This recipe is super easy and another breakfast idea, especially if you’re tired of eating the same thing every morning.

I also like to use oatmeal to mix with bananas or make porridge with almond milk, but I feel that oatmeal usually has a slower and \”heavy\” digestion than quinoa, so I like to vary with this bowl in the coffee in the morning.

To make it easier, I always leave quinoa cooked in my fridge. I cook only in water and leave it cooked in the fridge, seasoning later as I will include it. That way, I can use it both in sweet recipes like this one, as in savory dishes! If you want more ideas to prepare quinoa and its nutritional properties, visit my last post here.

Recipe

Stuff

  • 1/2 cup. of quinoa already cooked in water with cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup. of almond milk (or whatever you prefer)

Breakfast with Quinoa bowl

Breakfast – Quinoa Bowl

as i have said on my latest post about quinoa, I always cook a bunch of quinoa for my week, only with water, so I can have the perfect adds-in for both sweet and savory recipes. So, to make it easier, try to always have a bit of cooked quinoa on your bridge so you can enjoy this recipe in an easy way!

This Quinoa Bowl can be another way to enjoy a nourishing breakfast, especially if you are a bit tired of having the same thing every single day when you wake up. It has an easy digestion for me (more than oats, for instance) and give me enough of protein and carbs that I need to start my day. The Walnuts will give you some extra friendly fats, which are great to have more satiety and extra health benefits (besides the crunchy texture – quit important in my opinion).

ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of cooked quinoa
  • 3/4 Cup of Almond Milk (Or whatever milk you prefer) – sometimes like to heat it up.
  • Chopped Walnuts (2 Units)
  • 1/2 or 1 sliced banana
  • 2 Tablespoons of Blueberry (Blueberry) or Chopped Strawberries.
  • Vanilla Extract – 1/2 teaspoon
  • Ground Cinnamon to Taste.

instructions

In a bowl, mix the milk with vanilla drops and cinnamon, add the quinoa and the fruits. In case you still feel necessary to sweeten, add a few drops of stevia extract or honey.
