This is my newest bread recipe and I can say it was the best so far. That kind of bread you hit your eye and can already imagine how good it is and the good it should do. Just because you can see most of the ingredients, you can already consider a sign that it is something of quality and really a wholemeal bread.

If you also don’t want to give up a roll in your daily life and also enjoy a more natural and healthy diet, try this recipe and you will no longer need (nor do it) to buy more bread in supermarkets. Naturally gluten-free (if you opt for gluten-free oats), preservatives, rich in fiber and ingredients full of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. A blessing to start the day!

I’ve always liked homemade breads, but I never thought it was easy to make at home. I ended up looking for more alternative brands, but the truth is that most industrialized breads always contain dubious ingredients, because the manufacturer’s objective is usually to have a product that lasts longer on the shelf and with cheap raw material to increase the profit margin. It is for these reasons that we find so many preservatives and low quality ingredients in conventional breads.

Psyllium husks seed

One of the ingredients you must be asking yourself: where did she get it from? It’s really not very common among people, but I started working with psyllium more than 7 years ago, especially with patients with problems such as high cholesterol (see this study), or for detoxification treatments, blood glucose control (blood glucose)  and intestinal constipation.

I started using psyllium in recipes about two years ago, in this recipe he is the one who makes the league among all these wonderful ingredients, so it has a fundamental role!

The truth is that this seed has both soluble and insoluble fibers and has the ability to suck water inside itself until it increases in size up to 10 times.Pão integral sem gluten! It helps us to clean the toxins in the intestine and can also help regulate appetite and intestinal transit. It can be included in recipes, but if you want to drink it in water or powder, I recommend guidance from a nutritionist, as the excess can have negative effects for you.

Nowadays we have brands of local producers that supply homemade breads, are usually frozen and sold in health food stores or food fairs. Find out about fairs, farmers markets (for those who live outside Brazil) and natural products stores near your home! Visit my guide on how to find these foods here.

Extras:

Where to Buy Psyllium Husks: Natural products stores, pharmacies and cereal areas.

Storage: As they do not have the presence of preservatives, they tend to create fungi and spoil faster. Therefore, I always slice the bread (when it is already cold) and store it in the freezer inside a closed plastic. When consuming, just put it in a toaster or oven!!

Tips on how to eat: Jelly, cashew nut cheese, avocado butter or any paste you have at home. You can accompany soups, salads or be the base of your breakfast!
