You go through Instagram and there are thousands of super healed or super thin women and with that lifestyle that seems to be the most perfect in the world. It’s not, don’t be fooled. Life is not perfect for anyone, what can change is how we react to imperfections, but this is not recorded in a photo, that is real life.

Each one has their own difficulties and challenges in life and I saw the need to write about it when I saw it in my own clients or friends, goals that are often unattainable because they are not part of their nature (biotype, lifestyle, etc). And I don’t need to think about the number of people who suffer from body image disorder and lack of self-love, to say that this subject needs to be discussed more.

My goal is not to heal, to diagnose, or to say that I know the truth. I’ve also been insecure and dissatisfied with myself and I will still be at various times because I like to explore new things and I often put myself in situations that can be outside my comfort zone. But, because I have always worked with nutrition and observe a lot of eating behaviors, I want to give the chance to open a window and maybe collaborate with a movement of greater personal acceptance and a conscious diet.

Today I’m not going to give you a food recipe, but some tips that   can help you bring more confidence, because when we practice self-confidence, we are different in the world and stronger to react to difficulties.

I can say that 99% of the photos have an image change and that not even the magazine’s women look like the women of the magazine. In addition, many models suffer from eating disorders mainly due to the pressure due to the thinness imposed. So it’s definitely not worth comparing yourself with something you don’t even want to be real.

  1. End with self-criticism

Understand what those desires for certain foods represent, nourish yourself with fresh and whole foods, and include self-care activities more often.

  1. Focus on health, not weight.

Weight can be a parameter, but it’s just a number. We are made up of muscle, bones, organs, water and this can all vary a lot, especially in women. Why not focus on how you feel? Willing, quality of sleep, with energy or feel comfortable in your clothes. Don’t get me wrong, I know how positive it is to lose weight without radicalism and how much it can make people feel better! But if that is the only parameter, perhaps essential steps of its evolution will go unnoticed and there is no long-term adherence. Weight will be a natural consequence when you are more aware of what is good for you and you are practicing it often.

  1. Stir the skeleton!

Find a physical exercise that brings you pleasure first and foremost. Physical exercises bring personal connection, self-confidence, in addition to increasing the production of hormones that make us feel good and relieve stress. Don’t be hard or radical with yourself, start little by little and find a routine that is feasible for you to maintain.

It sounds cliché, but there is an incredible magic in treating yourself with love and prioritizing what makes you feel good. There is nothing more powerful than loving yourself, not in a narcissistic way, but in accepting what you are with humility and pride. It’s learning how you talk to yourself, how you listen and how you react. Even if many look for me to lose weight initially, they often end up discovering something much bigger by the simple fact that they are prioritizing and discovering new ways to feel good. I hope this serves to inspire people to love themselves beyond what the mirror will reflect.
