Oilseeds pastes are my biggest addiction. Cashew nuts are among the ingredients I use the most in my daily life, they have the power to leave creamier recipes and can often serve as a substitute for dairy products. Therefore, it is often present in my programs of Nutritional follow-up and health coach.
This recipe is wonderful when you beat that sweet desire, even without taking any kind of sugar! I only used cinnamon to sweeten it. By the way, did you know that cinnamon helps Stabilize blood sugar levels And does it also have a thermogenic effect? Therefore, it can help a lot in the desire for sweets and increase the metabolism. Of course, it doesn’t work miracles alone and should be associated with a balanced diet and regular physical activities.
Cashew nuts are super versatile in the kitchen and, like most nuts, they can bring numerous health benefits as they are loaded with healthy fats, fibers and vegetable proteins. They are also a source of minerals such as zinc, selenium and manganese, all important for the immune system and health in general.
You will need a food processor, before anything else. There are people who use a blender, but I’ve never tested it. Food processor is very cool to have at home and make sweets, purees, cauliflower rice, etc. I have a small one, but if you want to see my list of utensils to have in the kitchen, see here! If you don’t cook a lot at home and want to start cooking more, this list of mine can be very useful.
Where to Use | The cashew nut paste can be included in pancakes, puree in the spoon when you beat the sweet tooth, in smoothies, toast, with fruit, and so on!
Extra tip| Buy broken chestnuts, they are usually much cheaper than the whole chestnut. A patient of São Paulo told her in the cereal zone and found the chestnuts in pieces for a much better price! Here’s the tip!
The Secret | patience. You will start beating the chestnuts in the processor and it will become a \”farofa\”, then a half-hard paste, until, finally, a creamy paste.
