if you don’t have the iron pot (Cast Iron Skillet) what use, you can make it in any container that can go in the oven!!
Recipe
Ingredientes:
Filling
- 6 medium apples, chopped (if not organic, I recommend removing the rind)
- 1/2 orange juice (approximately 3 tbsp)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch or arrowroot flour (arrowroot)
Coverage
- 1 1/4 cup almond flour
- 3/4 cups of gluten-free oats
- 2/3 cup lightly crushed pecan nuts
- 1 cup unsweetened coconut flakes or flakes
- 1/3 cup coconut sugar
- 1 teaspoon of sea salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- pinch of nutmeg
- 1/2 cup extra virgin coconut oil at room temperature or 8 tablespoons unsalted butter.
Optional: Coconut or Greek yogurt to serve
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Prepare the filling: Combine the apple, orange juice and starch in a bowl and mix well. Pour the mixture into a 9-10 inch (inch) shape or in an iron pot and with a spatula spread the ingredients evenly.
- Prepare the frosting: Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and with your hands mix up to a consistency of farofa. Another alternative is to use an electric mixer until you reach the desired point.
- With your hands, distribute the topping over the filling and put it in the oven.
- Bake for 40-50 minutes or until the apples are soft and bubbly and the golden frosting.
- If the frosting is too golden before the apples soften, cover with aluminum foil.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
